Hurghada in Egypt offers great value for an all-inclusive holiday

Left booking your summer holiday until the last minute? Good news! After years of rising costs, all-inclusive family holidays are finally getting cheaper in some of the UK's favourite destinations. We reveal where your money will go furthest this August – and the hotspots where you'll pay more.

If you’ve left it late to book your summer holiday, you’re not alone. Recent research from travel trade association ABTA showed that despite holidays being a spending priority, 38% of holidaymakers wanting to travel in the next 12 months have delayed their decision to book, with a third of travellers who’d like to go away this summer intending to book their trip just two-to-four weeks in advance. A further 10% plan to book less than a fortnight in advance.

For parents, though, the imminent school holidays in England and Wales mean the clock is ticking to get sorted. So, we’re here to help! We dug into our site data for the BBC to reveal which of our top destinations are offering good value for an all-inclusive family holiday this August and where prices have fallen the most since last summer.

And, we have good news. After a few years of holiday prices stubbornly rising, the average prices of family all-inclusive holidays are down slightly year-on-year in 2026. There is a lot of value for families willing to shop around – and some savvy destination swaps to make.

Here’s where to book for the best value all-inclusive family holiday prices this summer – and where to avoid.

Where have summer all-inclusive family holiday prices fallen?

1. Agadir, Morocco

Price drop since summer 2025: -8.2%

Average price of an all-inclusive family holiday: £884.94pp

A view across the sea of the beach and resort of Agadir in MoroccoA view across the sea of the beach and resort of Agadir in Morocco

The north African beach resort of Agadir takes our top spot for family holiday value this summer, with prices down 8.2% for a seven-night all-inclusive holiday with the kids this August compared to 2025. Morocco as a whole looks like a winner for summer with all-inclusive family prices across the country down by 6.5%.

Agadir is a great choice if you’d like an easy-going alternative to European beach favourites thanks to its sparkling sunshine and maximum daytime temperatures of 26°C in August. There’s a range of all-inclusive hotels from five-stars with spas to family-focused stays with activities galore. And, if you can drag the kids away from your hotel pool, there are souks for them to practice haggling in, golden beaches with surf schools and day trips for fun in the desert or to spot wildlife in Souss-Massa National Park.

2. Egypt

Price drop since summer 2025: -8.1%

Average price of an all-inclusive family holiday: £1,136.59pp

Family all-inclusive prices have also fallen by an impressive 8.1% in Egypt, a country that many children dream of visiting thanks to its captivating ancient history, dreamy golden beaches and technicolour underwater world.

Top all-inclusive choices for families include Sharm el Sheikh where hotels have everything you’ll all need, plus more – think multiple restaurants, a pool for each day of your break, waterparks, private beaches and activities for every age. Hurghada is all about the beach and the colourful coral reefs you can admire when snorkelling, while nearby Sahl Hasheesh is one for families who like a spot of luxury and a quieter base.

3. Menorca, Spain

Price drop since summer 2025: -5.1%

Average price of an all-inclusive family holiday: £1,107.33pp

While Majorca often steals the limelight when it comes to family holidays in the Balearic Islands, savvy families should consider smaller neighbour Menorca for relaxed escape this August. Prices for week-long all-inclusive holidays are down 5.10% in Menorca this year while Majorca prices have gone the other way, increasing by 9% year-on-year, showing what a difference comparing your options can make.

Laid-back Menorca will charm all of the brood as you laze on unspoilt stretches of sand, sample seafood caught that day and explore Bronze Age sites. The west side of the island is home to some of the bigger beach resorts such as Cala Galdana which is popular with families. Cala'n Bosch, a half-hour drive away, has a great choice of hotels, a lovely marina and a choice of watersports to try.

Prices for family all-inclusive holidays in Spain have gone up almost 4% since last year overall – but not in the Costa del Sol where all-inclusive family prices have fallen by 2.9%.

The Costa del Sol is one of Europe’s most popular destinations for good reason and families return year-after-year for its sun-kissed Blue Flag beaches, lively resorts and varied culture.

Fuengirola is a top choice for families with wonderfully-clear water, plus waterparks to keep children of all ages happy. Benalmadena is another crowd-pleaser thanks to its wide, golden sands, aquarium and pretty Paloma Park.

Turkey is offering excellent all-inclusive value at the moment with the overall price of family all-inclusive holidays this August down by 1.6% across the country. And the Antalya area stands out for families looking for a deal as the difference is even bigger at -2.4%.

Head to cocooning hotels in towns and cities such as Alanya, Belek and Side and unwind with the backdrop of the mountains. For a contrast to your resort, stroll around the area’s historic towns, Ottoman-influenced architecture or look out over your show-stopping surroundings from Alanya’s medieval castle.

Landscape with turquoise ocean water on Papagayo beach, Lanzarote, Canary IslandsLandscape with turquoise ocean water on Papagayo beach, Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Year-round sun, volcanic landscapes and resorts well set up for tourists make the Canary Islands a firm family favourite time and time again. And in summer 2026, Lanzarote is the island that families should set their sights on as prices are down 2.2% compared to last year.

You could spend your whole holiday sampling the island’s beaches, which are some of the best in Spain – Playas de Papagayo should be top of your list for its soft golden sand and excellent snorkelling conditions. But it would be a shame to miss a tour of volcanic Timanfaya National Park, spotting albino crabs in the caves of Jameos del Agua and (for parents) sampling the island’s local wines whose grapes are grown in fertile volcanic soil.

Another Canary Island that’s offering more for your money this summer is Gran Canaria where prices are down almost 2%. And while it’s just behind Lanzarote when it comes to the price drop, the overall average price of a seven-night family all-inclusive is slightly less.

With a nickname of the ‘miniature continent’, expect a variety of attractions and landscapes outside of your hotel. Spend a morning strolling through sand dunes and an afternoon hiking in a pine forest. Or take mini explorers to Casa de Colon (Columbus’ House), the house where Christopher Columbus stayed before his expedition to the Americas. Then retreat to your hotel for sundowners al-fresco.

Malta may be small, but it packs a mighty punch for a family holiday with glorious beaches, historic sites, boat trips to discover its coastline and a unique theme park. And, with prices down, this year is a great time to discover the archipelago.

Valletta is Europe’s smallest capital, but there’s plenty going on in the city built by the Knights of St John including dipping into museums and exploring the tunnels and shelters below the city on a tour. Its beaches are perfect for little ones, too, with calm and shallow waters ideal for paddling and snorkelling.

Mellieħa, Malta’s most northerly region, is a popular place for beach-loving families to stay with the Popeye Village theme park a great option for a day out. Once a film set, it’s now a place to meet the Popeye characters, learn about the set in its cinema, tackle a floating assault course on water, play minigolf and more.

Where have all-inclusive family prices gone up?

Prices are up across the board in the Greek islands this year – with a 5.1% increase for all all-inclusive family holidays. The biggest increase was in all-inclusive holidays to Corfu, which has seen a 19.2% rise.

The price of all-inclusive family holidays to Croatia have also risen this summer with an increase of 14.9% compared to 2025, while Spain holidays are 4% more expensive and Portugal holidays 3% more.

Fancy long-haul this summer?

If you’re tempted to try somewhere new with the kids this summer, there have been some stand-out long-haul price drops, too. Prices of all-inclusive family holidays to the United Arab Emirates are down 25.4% compared to last year due to the conflict in the Middle East, while holidays to the Dominican Republic are 11% cheaper.

And, if you want to treat the kids to a slice of Indian Ocean bliss with sugar-white sand and twinkling turquoise sea, Mauritius is offering good value in August with all-inclusive holiday prices 10.9% cheaper than in August 2025.
