Calella de Palafrugell in the Costa Brava, Spain
If you’re planning your summer family break, price is likely to be a key consideration. And did you know that the cheapest destination for you may depend on the UK airport you’re travelling from?
We’ve dug into our data at TravelSupermarket HQ to reveal the cheapest destinations for a seven-night summer family holiday from every UK region and the results are fascinating. Surprisingly, the price for a holiday to the same destination can vary by hundreds of pounds based on your nearest airport.
Travelling from England? The Costa Brava is the overall cheapest place to go. And though Spain’s ‘Wild Coast’ is cheapest for Belfast families too, the same holiday costs up to £170 per person more than travelling from Manchester.

Travellers from Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter get the best deal heading to Spain’s Costa Dorada. Plus, these airports are the only ones in the UK where Portugal's Algarve makes the top five cheapest options.
