The little island of Menorca has some devoted fans in the beach holiday crowd, and more travellers seem to discover its charms each year. Flights to Menorca are easy to find, with many UK airports offering direct services to Menorca/Mahón Airport, particularly in the height of summer.
Menorca sits to the east of Ibiza and Majorca, and is noticeably quieter and more traditional, with some beautiful cities, countryside and coastline. There are also fascinating ancient ruins which dot the interior, some lovely medieval architecture, and unique food and drink like Mahón cheese and gin.
Menorca’s popularity soars with British visitors during the summer months, in particular the school holidays, meaning that flight prices tend to peak in July and August. There are plenty of reasonably priced flights to be had, though, partly thanks to the low-cost airlines that offer services on this route – these include Vueling and easyJet.

If you can travel outside school holidays, you might consider visiting before or after peak season, when flights are cheaper and you’ll avoid the tourist crowds. Spring is a great time to visit the island, as temperatures are warm and the countryside is covered in wild flowers.
