Mellieħa
For family holidays by the beach, Mellieħa in the north of Malta is a top choice. Mellieħa Bay’s shallow waters and white sands are perfect for chilled-out swimmers, watersports enthusiasts and sun-worshippers. For a change of pace, head to Popeye Village. Originally a film set for the 1980s live-action movie, it’s now a fun park.
Valletta
Malta’s charming capital, Valletta, may be tiny, but it’s still chock-a-block with kid-friendly activities and historic gems. For instance, the Malta Experience gives an intro to the island’s 7,000-year-old history, Fort St Elmo is a masterclass in old-school warfare and the Upper Barrakka Gardens serves up scenery, views and ice creams.
Gozo
