Bold, luxurious and hard to leave, Vilamoura’s marina perfectly encapsulates holidays to this Portuguese resort. Situated on one of the central Algarve’s best beaches, Vilamoura boasts five stunning golf courses, high-rolling casinos and all manner of adventures, from sailing and windsurfing to horse riding, fishing and plenty more.
Beyond Vilamoura’s beautiful marina is a world of ocean activities. When you’re not parasailing or jet-skiing, settle in for dolphin-spotting boat trips or sip sparkling wine as the sun sets on a pleasure cruise.
For adventures on dry land, hire bikes to explore Moorish architecture and Roman ruins. Swap your bike for binoculars on the Vilamoura Nature Trail and you can spot purple herons, swamp hens, bitterns and harriers. Or, hit the links on some of the world’s best golf resorts, including the championship Dom Pedro Victoria, designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer.
When it’s time to eat, the town’s beachside bars, cafés and gourmet restaurants serve up delicious Portuguese and international cuisine. After dark, Vilamoura’s Irish bars keep the party going with live music, great beer and unbeatable craic.
Holidays to Vilamoura have something for everyone, whether you’re a golf lover, beach bum or just want a week or two in the sun.
