Things to do in Magaluf

Magaluf holidays are made of sun, sea, sand and lazy days. But, if you do want peel yourself off your sun-lounger, there’s plenty to keep you busy. Fill your days with jet-ski rides, glass-bottomed boat trips and heady booze cruises, or head to one of the many family-friendly attractions instead.

Western Water Park

With adrenaline-pumping slides, a lazy river and a dedicated children’s area, Western Water Park is geared towards the entire brood.

Shoot down The Beast’s 30-metre (98ft) near-vertical drop or, for those who are after something a little less nerve-racking, share an inflatable ring with friends on the Gran Cañon mega slide. This popular waterpark is a short bus ride from Magaluf centre. Arrive early to beat the crowds.

Palma

Stylish and artsy, historic Palma is a pocket of culture not far from Magaluf. Explore the old town’s labyrinth of pretty backstreets and elegant architecture, discovering museums and galleries along the way (such as the Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art). La Seu, the Gothic cathedral, is a highlight and can be seen from across town.

Shopping is another draw to the capital. You’ll find everything from designer boutiques to a bustling marketplace, and several cafes and tapas bars to keep you going throughout the day.

Magaluf Beach

With its soft golden sand and calm turquoise waters, it’s easy to see why this coastal spot was chosen as a holiday resort destination back in the 1960s.

These days, Magaluf Beach is lined with sun-loungers, beach bars and watersports facilities – everything you need for a memorable day by the sea. If you fancy a change of scenery, the quiet coves at Cala Vinyes and Cala Cap Falco are also stunning and within a short drive.

Katmandu Park

In a resort that’s known for non-stop fun, it’s fitting that there’s a theme park smack bang in the centre. Play mini-golf, shoot zombies in a virtual rollercoaster or cool down in the splash park. Many of the attractions at Katmandu Park are family-friendly, such as the five-level soft play area and “The House of Magic”.

There’s also the option of staying at the onsite themed hotel, where you benefit from a Play Pass that provides access to many of the park’s attractions every day of your holiday.

Pirates Adventure show

Acrobatics, dance and a bit of comedy thrown in for good measure, this is Magaluf’s swashbuckling interactive evening show. Its popularity among visitors goes without saying, having run for more than 30 years.

A ticket includes seats at a pirate-themed table, dinner, and drinks on tap. There’s a family-friendly version for all ages or a raunchier adult-only show, called Pirates Reloaded, later in the evening.
