Stunning beaches
You don’t become the most visited island in the Canaries without a sensational shoreline – and Tenerife has more than 340km (212 miles) of glimmering coast. Splash around in the warm waters of Las Teresitas, sizzle on a sun-lounger on the golden sands of Los Cristianos and dive at Los Gigantes to see the area’s rich marine life.
Activities for all ages
Whale watching, dolphin spotting, wreck diving – last-minute holidays to Tenerife can be pretty action-packed. At Siam Park, often cited as one of the world’s best waterparks, you’ll find slippery slides, relaxing river rides and aquatic adventure zones.
Hiking opportunities
Tenerife is heaven for hikers. Mountain ranges, enormous pine forests and volcanic backdrops make for a landscape as diverse as it is beautiful. Enjoy incredible ocean views from Los Gigantes’ cliffs, hike up a volcano in Teide National Park and follow the Masca Gorge Trail to ramble amid truly breathtaking scenery.
When to go
For the best of the beaches, look for last-minute deals between June and August when temperatures creep upwards to the 30s. If you’re here to hike in the hills and explore Tenerife’s towns, the milder months of March, April, October or November may be more your scene (and cheaper, too).
