Cala Ratjada This Majorcan gem is one of Spain's cheapest resorts.

It’s no secret that Spain is a go-to choice for a budget break in Europe – and knowing the holiday destinations where your money will go furthest shouldn't be a secret either.

From the mainland to the Canaries and Balearics, we've run the numbers at TravelSupermarket HQ to reveal ten of the cheapest holiday resorts in Spain this summer.

Here’s where to find a dose of Spanish sunshine for less.

1. Manilva, Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol is a classic pick for great-value package deals in Spain. And this summer, it's Manilva that takes top spot as the cheapest Spanish resort, with seven-night getaways averaging just £371pp.

A blend of whitewashed buildings and sandy beaches, this traditional low-rise town is one of the costa’s quieter spots. Some of its best attractions are free, too. Admire the 18th-century Church of Santa Ana, peruse local goods at the Sunday market or settle down for a siesta on the Blue Flag Sabinillas Beach.

When you’re ready to refuel, you’ll find tavernas and tapas bars lining the seaside.

2. Costa del Silencio, Tenerife

Tenerife’s Costa del Silencio also knows how to keep it cheap – the southern resort nabs second spot with prices at £424pp on average.

Known for the Montaña Amarilla – a golden volcanic rock formation that rises dramatically over the sea – it’s got natural beauty by the bucketload. Its calm, crystalline waters are a haven for scuba divers and snorkellers, while nearby Las Galletas port is the go-to for al fresco dining.

For a day on the green, mosey over to the neighbouring resort of Golf del Sur, where you can tee off on palm-fringed courses.

3. S’illot, Majorca

Prefer an island break in the Mediterranean? At £449pp for seven nights, Majorca’s east coast resort of S'illot is a good bet. Small but buzzing with cafés, shops and family-friendly hotels, it's an idyllic choice for an easygoing getaway.

Days are best spent relaxing on the silky soft sands of Platja de S'illot. You can also hire bikes to pootle along the cycle path that runs north to Cala Bona, stopping at beaches in Sa Coma and Cala Millor as you go.

Head south along the coast if you fancy admiring incredible stalactites at the Drach Caves.

4. Calpe, Costa Blanca

The former fishing village of Calpe (around £470pp for seven nights) is now a thriving beach resort packed full of budget-friendly hotels, restaurants and bars that cater to both families and couples.

But traditional Spain is still easy to find in the Moorish Quarter of the old town and local fish market, Lonja de Calp.

It lies 20km (12 miles) north of Benidorm on the Costa Blanca. Look for the giant Ifach rock that towers over the resort’s harbour – at 332m (1,089ft), you can’t miss it.

5. Cala Ratjada, Majorca

Nestled on Majorca’s northeast coast and ticking all the holiday boxes (think sun-loungers on the beach, a seafront promenade humming with bars and restaurants, and a long list of leisure activities), this pretty harbour town is a popular choice for a chilled-out escape.

Exploring nearby beaches is high on the itinerary – Son Moll is on your doorstep for sunbathing, Cala Gat provides the perfect Instagram shot, and Cala Agulla’s gin-clear sea has swimming and snorkelling covered.

With seven-night holidays averaging £488pp, it’s a steal this summer.

6. Callao Salvaje, Tenerife

You’ll get up to ten hours of sunshine a day in Tenerife in summer. And Callao Salvaje’s striking beach is perfect for making the most of it.

Self-catering apartments, holiday homes and villas mean budget-friendly stays are easy to find and you won’t be short on places to shop and eat around the main square. You can also get your adrenaline pumping on water slides at Aqualand Costa Adeje, just a 15-minute drive away.

This summer, a week-long holiday to Callao Salvaje costs around £498pp on average.

7. Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava

Frequently named one of the cheapest all-inclusive destinations for summer, Tossa de Mar nails the brief for a bargain beach holiday on the Costa Brava.

The picturesque resort is instantly recognisable thanks to its 12th-century castle that flanks the southern end of the resort’s beach. Below it, a medieval old town charms with cobblestone streets, local shops and tapas restaurants.

It’s the third cheapest destination in mainland Spain this summer, with a week-long holiday averaging £508pp.

8. Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife

This quieter Tenerife town is a hit with couples seeking a romantic getaway – its majestic black-sand beaches and pretty palm-lined streets are a big draw. As is the price of a holiday, which comes in at £512pp for a seven-night stay this summer.

Any spare budget is best spent on activities. Don’t miss the exotic trees and flowers on display at the botanical gardens, and leave time to visit Lago Martiánez, a complex of seawater swimming pools designed by César Manrique.

To explore further afield, lace up your boots and hike the trails of the Orotava Valley.

9. Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava

Brimming with fantastic beaches, nightlife and culture, Lloret de Mar is one of Costa Brava’s most popular resorts.

Throw in the fact it's one of the cheapest in Spain, around £522pp for seven nights, and it’s no surprise that it attracts the summer holiday crowds.

To help your money go even further here, consider a self-catering apartment and look out for free activities – admiring the gothic Parish Church of Sant Roma or lounging on the sun-kissed sands of Playa de Lloret won’t cost you a penny.

10. El Arenal, Majorca

El Arenal rounds out our list of cheapest Spanish resorts for summer – you’re looking at £535pp for a seven-night summer escape.

This buzzing Majorcan town is a magnet for nightlife lovers and beach bums, with an impressive line up of bars and clubs and every watersport under the sun. Even better, there’s a good range of affordable hotels to choose from and the resort’s main beach has plenty of soft sand to recover on after late nights.

If you fancy a day out, take a boat trip around the Bay of Palma or get splash-happy at Majorca’s biggest waterpark, Aqualand.
