Fethiye in the Dalaman area is a top pick for a cheap September all-inclusive.

September is something of a sweet spot when it comes to securing a late-summer break, minus the peak season crowds or price tag. Cash in on shoulder season package prices and go all-inclusive to sweeten the deal even more.

There are plenty of places that are hot in September, but prices are considerably lower than July and August. The great news is that TravelSupermarket has crunched the numbers to reveal how you can save even more. We’ve found the cheapest beach resorts for a week-long all-inclusive – in both European holiday hotspots and a few favourites further afield. Read on for the cheapest all-inclusive resorts and compare holiday deals for September, and discover why there’s more to discover beyond just sunshine and savings.

Spain

Playa de la Arena, Tenerife

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £477pp

Tenerife is a tried-and-true choice when it comes to a great value break, as are all-inclusive deals to Spain in general. Plenty of regular flights from the UK alongside a massive number of hotels, keeps prices competitive year-round.

But when it comes to where on this popular Canary Island offers the best value in September, Playa De La Arena wins out. In fact, this quieter west coast spot is our top value destination for an all-inclusive break in September overall. A seven-night all-inclusive break here in September averages out at just £477 per person.

This palm-fringed suntrap just south of Puerto de Santiago draws visitors for its clear blue waters, stunning sunsets, proximity to the famous cliffs of Los Gigantes and far-reaching views of La Gomera. In short, if pretty and laid-back is what you’re looking for, you’ve found it.

With plenty of bars and restaurants for if you do fancy a meal out, or a day beside the beach rather than the pool, you’re never far from the essentials if you do leave your resort for an explore.

Calas de Mallorca, Majorca

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £511pp

Prefer the shorter hop to Majorca the Balearics? You’ll get plenty of bang for your buck in Calas de Mallorca in September, and nine hours of sunshine a day on top.

You won’t find busy marinas and strobe-lit clubs here, but that’s all part of the appeal. Built around three picturesque coves, holidays to Calas de Mallorca are all about lazy swims in the sparkling Mediterranean and sunset strolls along coastal paths.

If you’re up for an activity, book a glass-bottom boat tour to admire the resort’s scenery from a different angle.

Cala'n Bosch, Menorca

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £513pp

Cala'n Bosch beach, Menorca, Balearic IslandsCala'n Bosch beach, Menorca, Balearic Islands

Built around a bustling inland marina, and fringed by a beautiful white sand beach, it’s not hard to see why Menorca’s Cala’n Bosch is a top choice for an all-inclusive break.

Situated on the southwest coast and purpose-built in the 1980s, it’s known for its manageable size, easy-going vibe and family-friendly atmosphere. Enjoy quiet days on the sand in its cosy cove or head to its most bustling spot, the marina where lazy afternoons browsing its shops can turn into lively nights at its restaurants and bars.

If you’re looking for activities, there’s a small waterpark in town or head to nearby Ciutadella, a historic harbour town, for a ramble. Or take a ten-minute walk across the headland to Son Xoriguer beach for sailing, scuba diving and windsurfing.

Turkey

Alanya, Antalya Area

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £517pp

Aerial view of Cleopatra beach in Alanya, TurkeyAerial view of Cleopatra beach in Alanya, Turkey

The Turquoise Coast earned its name for its scenic shoreline and some of the best all-inclusive holidays in Turkey, with pretty Alanya at its eastern tip. Sandwiched between the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, and divided by a rocky peninsula topped by a towering castle, this historic city is all about its postcard-worthy good looks. What’s more, temperatures can reach up to 29⁰C into September.

Beyond the resorts – which range from city chic to budget-friendly and family-focused – there’s plenty to do. Explore the city’s shops and cafes, finishing your day at rooftop bars for sunset views. Walk the 13th-century fortress, after a day on one of two Blue Flag beaches. Board a jeep safari to explore the local countryside. Or take a sunset cruise to see the city in a different light.

Fethiye, Dalaman area

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £544pp

Aerial view of Calis beach in Fethiye, TurkeyAerial view of Calis beach in Fethiye, Turkey

Sticking with Turkey, Fethiye is one of the stars of Turquoise Coast. It’s a place where the ancient ruins and modern markets create the kind of seaside bustle that fills your days with scenic seafood lunches in bougainvillea-strewn cobbled streets or soothing dips in the sea.

Beyond the resorts, wander the ruins from the ancient Lycian city of Telmessos, or take a 20-minute drive to reach the famed waters of Olu Deniz beach. This lagoon-like protected nature reserve has calm, glowing-blue waters that are a top spot for swimmers, or head on a boat tour to the Butterfly Valley.

Manavgat, Antalya area

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £602pp

A vast sandy beach stretching along the coast in Side, TurkeyA vast sandy beach stretching along the coast in Side, Turkey

The emerald-green Manavgat river cuts through this pretty town before it reaches the Med. But not before it cascades over an epic waterfall. While only a few meters tall, the waterfall spans 40 meters wide and is a popular picnic spot outside of town.

In fact, Manavgat is all about nature, surrounded by the protected forests of the Taurus Mountains. So if you’re after a blend of beach and beautiful landscapes, it’s an attractive spot for an all-inclusive in Antalya. Home to a number of five-star resorts alongside boutique properties and sprawling family-focused hotels complete with waterparks, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to where to stay too.

If you do head out of the resort, find yourself whitewater rafting, ziplining above the forest, head to the Roman city ruins in nearby Side, or even head out on a pirate boat tour beside Side city.

Greece

Liapades, Corfu

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £529pp

If you’re seeking an all-inclusive Greek island escape, dazzling Corfu remains one of the most affordable options. And this September, Liapades is its cheapest resort.

Liapades itself is a mountainous village on the northwest coast close to Palaiokastritsa 20km from Corfu Town, and has one of the most unspoiled and secluded beaches on the island. This is a quieter spot, and in fact is home to just one major all-inclusive resort, the Blue Princess Beach Hotel which has direct access to the beach alongside two pools. It’s a peaceful spot for those yearning to get away from it all beside the Aegean Sea, taking countryside walks to monasteries.

Rethymnon, Crete

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £560pp

Another of our best-value Greek islands, Crete is known for its castles, beaches ranging from powdery pink sands to white pebbles, Venetian architecture and rugged mountains. And for September, Rethymnon on its northern coast is the cheapest spot for an all-inclusive break.

Known for its 16th-century Venetian old town, you’ll find a 13km golden sand beach right beside it. Located mid-way between Chania and Heraklion, you’re in a prime spot for venturing across the island. Explore the grand Fortezza fortress, scoff traditional Cretan cuisine at family-run tavernas, and kick your shoes off and sink them into warm sands as you stroll the coastline. With temperatures around 25⁰C throughout the month, it’s plenty warm enough for a dip in the sea.

Lixouri, Kefalonia

Average price of an all-inclusive September holiday: £563pp

If it’s a traditional side of Greece you’re after – from quaint town squares, colourful fishing boats and seafood plucked straight from the sea – at an all-inclusive price that won’t make your eyes water, Lixouri has your name written all over it.

This may be the second-largest town on Kefalonia, but it’s located on the quiet Paliki peninsula just across the bay from the island's capital, Argostoli. Though connected by just a 20-minute passenger or car ferry, it feels a world away.

Active types can busy themselves at the Lakovatios Library and Museum, shopping for honey and wine at the weekly farmer’s market, and renting a boat from the marina. Or simply keep it chill on the caramel sand of Fikia Beach. Temperatures up to 27⁰C make it twice as tempting.
