Before you book an all-inclusive holiday, it’s important to check what’s included – and what isn’t – to make sure you’re happy with the deal you’ve found.
Generally, a minimum of three meals will be included in your all-inclusive price but there may be limits on the times you can eat these and the restaurants in your resort that you can eat them in. You may be limited to eating in more exclusive restaurants once or twice during your trip or you may have to pay a supplement to dine in them.
Snacks, such as ice-cream or cakes, are included in many all-inclusive deals, too. If these are important to you, make sure they are.
Both soft and alcoholic drinks are usually included in the price of an all-inclusive holiday package but, again, check whether any exclusions apply. Alcohol-wise, local brands tend to be included but you may have to pay extra for premium or international brands. You may be limited to drinking alcohol between certain hours too. On the other-hand, premium all-inclusive packages may include a stocked mini bar in your room.
Soft-drink wise, you’ll be spoilt for choice but, again, premium brands such as Coca-Cola may cost more and water may be from a dispenser with limited or no bottled water, depending on your hotel’s policy.
Many all-inclusive resorts not only keep you fed and watered, but they provide entertainment, too. This could be through animation teams who organise everything from games and sport sessions during the day to shows at night. Look at what the hotels you are considering include so you can find one to match your holiday style.
If you’re travelling with children and would like some entertainment for them, check whether there are dedicated activities or a kids’ club. If you’re going to an adults-only all-inclusive resort, look for one with activities that match your interests.
Larger all-inclusive resorts may have extensive facilities from water parks and playgrounds for the kids to sports facilities such as tennis and padel courts. If your idea of a fun-filled all-inclusive holiday extends beyond the sun lounger, read the small print to find out what’s included as part of your holiday price and whether you need to pay extra for anything. And talking about sun loungers, double check that there aren’t any sneaky extra charges to reserve these or towels.
If you love water sports, many hotels include hire of bodyboards or snorkels in the price of an all-inclusive package but may charge extra for motorised water sports.
Whether you’ve found a tempting budget all-inclusive deal or a luxury all-inclusive holiday, it’s worth making sure all your essentials are covered in the upfront price so you’re not caught out by unexpected extra charges. On TravelSupermarket, we make this easy as you can filter your results to show only deals with baggage and airport transfers included. If they’re not included, check how much transfers, baggage or car hire are to add on to make sure your deal is a good one.
Families love the ease of all-inclusive holidays with the big hitters of Spain, including the Canary Islands, and Greece attracting them year-after-year in resort towns such as Lloret de Mar and Sidari. If you’re looking for somewhere new to take the brood this summer, our site data shows that Bulgaria is 2026’s cheapest short-haul destination for all-inclusive holidays while Cape Verde is the cheapest long-haul destination for a family all-inclusive.***
Prices and availability shown can change. Always check pricing with the provider before booking.
With non-stop food and drink, plus more, included in the price, the initial cost of an all-inclusive holiday is likely to be more than a self-catering package or a holiday on a bed and breakfast basis. Whether this is worth it depends on your holiday style.
If you want to switch off with a fly-and-flop break and spend the majority of your holiday in your hotel, then the ease of having everything provided and being able to stick to a budget may make the extra upfront cost a no brainer.
If, however, you’d like to get out and about to explore your destination and work your way around local bars and restaurants, you may end up paying twice for food and drink or feel obliged to sacrifice your wish list to be in your hotel for mealtimes.
To feel confident that you’ve found a good all-inclusive deal, it’s worth comparing the price of an all-inclusive package at your chosen hotel with a bed and breakfast one and working out the difference. Then add a realistic cost for food and drink, plus anything else not included, to your self-catering or B&B cost to work out which is the best deal for you.
Whether you’re looking for some all-inclusive winter sun or a summer all-inclusive getaway, it’s always worth comparing your options side-by-side to make sure you’ve found a good deal.
You’re likely to find the best deals outside of school holidays. If a low price is your priority, be flexible with your days and dates of travel to scoop up the best bargains.
TravelSupermarket’s holiday tool allows you to compare all-inclusive deals from the UK’s top holiday providers in one place. You can filter these deals on what’s important to you, whether you’d like a five-star escape, a low deposit deal or certain facilities such as a kids’ club. By comparing with TravelSupermarket, you can save time and the effort of having multiple tabs open.
As TravelSupermarket doesn’t take bookings directly – we allow you to compare prices then direct you to the company with the best deal for you – we’re impartial and here to help you find the lowest price.

If you’re travelling with children during peak holiday periods such as the summer holidays, booking your family all-inclusive holiday as early as possible will mean you have your pick of resorts and room types, and you may be able to take advantage of early booking deals such as low deposit offers, free child places or complimentary upgrades.
If you’re more flexible, this may open up tempting last-minute all-inclusive deals as holiday companies try to fill spaces. Keep your eye out for sales and special offers, too, and sign up to newsletter such as TravelSupermarket’s to hear about deals first.
There are plenty of all-inclusive holiday deals that include free child places. These tend to be in high demand so booking early will give you the best choice. Take a look at holidays with free child places here.
Some resorts offer an all-inclusive plus basis, which usually means that as well as the standard all-inclusive offering, premium drinks are included in your price. Other perks may also be included on an all-inclusive plus basis such as a complimentary stocked mini bar, extra dining options, in-demand sun loungers or extra activities. Think about what’s important for you and check what’s included before booking.
While most things will be included in an all-inclusive holiday, you may want to budget for extras to make your holiday special. These could include spa treatments that aren’t included or excursions. If you’d like to bring gifts home, allow for this in your budget too.
Many of these additional expenses can be paid for on your credit or debit card but it may be handy to have cash for tips for outstanding service.
At TravelSupermarket, we know that the best deal may not simply be the one with the lowest price. So you can book with confidence, all the holidays found on TravelSupermarket are protected by the ATOL scheme. ATOL stands for Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing and the scheme offers financial protection should your holiday company collapse.
ATOL is not a replacement for travel insurance, though. We advise taking out a travel insurance policy too which will cover you financially for everything from medical expenses to stolen possessions.
If price is your priority, there are several ways to secure cheap all-inclusive holiday deals. Being flexible with when and where you travel will allow you to see the widest range of cheap deals. Some destinations may be cheaper when it comes to all-inclusive holidays, too. TravelSupermarket data has shown that the cheapest all-inclusive destinations for winter sun in 2026 are Hammamet and Sousse in Tunisia.****
For families, the cheapest destination for summer 2026 all-inclusive holidays on our site is currently Bulgaria while Cape Verde is offering the best long-haul all-inclusive prices.***
Yes, if you book far enough in advance, there are several all-inclusive deals with a low deposit or pay monthly option. You can find out how these work and see a selection on our flexible payment page.
Full board holidays tend to include all of your meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner – but not drinks or snacks. If you don’t drink alcohol or plan to hit a few bars outside of the hotel while you’re away, it might be worth comparing the price of all-inclusive with full-board, checking any exclusions, to work out what’s the best value for you.
If you book an all-inclusive holiday package after finding a deal on TravelSupermarket, flights will be included. If you have already booked flights and are looking for an all-inclusive hotel deal, use our hotel tool instead.
