A tranquil town on the east coast of Majorca, Cala Bona offers a healthy dose of sun, sea and sand. And while relaxing may well be on top of your to-do list during your Cala Bona holiday, there’s still enough to see and do to keep everyone entertained – if you can drag yourself away from the beach, that is.
Golden sands give way to shallow, kid-friendly waters at Cala Bona’s two beaches, which run down the coast towards neighbouring resort Cala Millor. Combined, they create a 2km-long (1.2 miles) ribbon of warm sand. You’ll find everything you need here – from sunbeds and showers to shops and restaurants – so you can focus on sunbathing.
If you fancy exploring, there are several excursions available from Cala Bona. You can head out on a boat to an exclusive beach, cycle to traditional towns or explore the otherworldly underground Drach Caves.
For those who want to improve their swing, Cala Bona is close to three golf courses. You’ll find manicured greens and sun-drenched fairways on courses designed to blend into the natural scenery. With views of rolling hills and impossibly blue seas, the hardest part will be concentrating on your game.
In the evening, you'll get to enjoy the resort’s laid-back vibes. Cala Bona may welcome more visitors than it once did but still has a relaxed, family-friendly feel. Choose a restaurant on the promenade for a dinner of fresh seafood and watch the fishing boats bobbing in the harbour as the sun goes down.
