A purpose-built holiday resort, Sa Coma welcomes visitors after Spanish sunshine, breezy, hang-loose days and laid-back nights. Set in a sweeping bay on the east coast of Majorca, the town is ideal for beach lovers, families and anyone looking for rest and relaxation.
The centrepiece of any Sa Coma holiday is the beach, where soft sand slopes gently into the clean, shallow waters of the Mediterranean. Spend all day unwinding on a sun-lounger and paddling in the sea, or head to the coves to surf the waves.
Holidaying with the family? As well as watersports, the brood will find plenty of kid-friendly activities in Sa Coma. You can spend one day getting up close with giraffes and rhinos, and the next sinking a hole-in-one in a mini-golf tropical paradise.
If you fancy a change of scenery, Sa Coma is close to some of Majorca’s most unique natural wonders. Take an afternoon stroll and enjoy the remote beauty of Punta de n’Amer, a nature reserve jutting out to sea, or hop down to the atmospheric Drach Caves, just a 15-minute drive away.
For those who like to stay active while on holiday, getting out to the sights is easy on two wheels. Jump on a bike and into the cycle lane running the length of the coast from Port Vell in the north to S’Illot in the south. If you want to save your legs, a tourist train runs through Sa Coma and on to other towns on the coast.
While Sa Coma is naturally laid-back, the resort still knows how to have fun (though don’t expect a party scene). In May, the town hosts the weeklong Smooth Jazz Festival, and in July, several festivals are celebrated with fairs, concerts and activities that visitors are welcome to join.
